Free resouces to help determine your Broadband Speed

BPL Speed Test

BPL Speed started as a project for my company and allowed employees to test their bandwidth used to connect to the internet.

BPL is actually an acronym for Broadband over Power Lines and has been around for a long time, but not released to the general public. In fact, many people have theories about an existing world wide network currently in place but hidden from the public.

It allows a person to plug a BPL modem into any outlet and instantly gain high speed access. A BPL modem uses a medium to high frequently (1.6 to 30MHz) to pump asymmetric speed from 256 kbit/s to 2.7 Mbit/s.

Although this site was created to test our broadband speed over local power lines, it can also be used to test the internet speed of any technology, be it a cable modem, DSL, satellite, phone or any other technology.
